Teaching and Learning
The school aims to deliver a curriculum that enables pupils to be motivated in their learning. It also aims to support pupils to be successful and ready to progress to the next stage of their education.
Curriculum planning provides clear routes of progression and development which result in a coherent and continuous path through the school. The learning opportunities are broad and varied across cross-curricular links in the school while developing the foundation skills of pupils within the subjects of English and Mathematics.
The needs of the individual pupil are central, and the provision offered aims to be sufficiently flexible at any time during their school career. This school works in partnership with parents. The views of parents and pupils are taken into account when working to achieve the appropriate balance between pupils’ rights to curriculum access and the need for some pupils to access other educational provisions (such as alternative curriculum, mainstream inclusion, therapy or intensive tuition).
