We offer our pupils a high quality of education, accessible to learners of varied abilities and different learning styles, whilst taking into consideration their social, emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.
The school is designated for 225 pupils with learning difficulties, and SEMH needs. Many pupils also have Autism Spectrum Conditions and communication difficulties or ADHD.
Dear Parent/Guardian, It has come to our attention that some of our students may be accessing an app called 'Wizz'. Whilst the app presents itself as a safe space to connect and make friends, it has been nicknamed 'Teen Tinder' due to its similarities with the adult dating app. Please find attached an information sheet from The National College that outlines the risks associated with this app if you are not familiar with it, which includes activity on the app relating to cat fishing, grooming and the sharing of explicit content. We ask that you check your child's phone, and if you find they are accessing this app, we recommend it is deleted. It is also important to be mindful that young people can have apps in hidden folders on their device. If after speaking to your child, you have any questions, queries, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
