NEWS FROM THE GOVERNING BODY - October 2017

It was lovely to return to school in September to hear the news of the fantastic exam results and Governors wish to congratulate the pupils and staff on this great achievement. We have returned to a busy schedule with meetings of the Full Governing Body, the Finance, Behaviour and Strategy teams. We have welcomed three new Governors to our team - Maddy Jones, Dawn Smith and Julie Coster. We are grateful to them for volunteering for this very important role and look forward to working with them. Some Governors had the opportunity to join the Harvest Assembly which was a wonderful celebration with lots of gifts being collected to be shared in our community - thank you to everyone for their generosity. We have also had Parents' Evening at the end of term and it was good to be able to come along and meet some of our families.

I have attended the KSENT Trust AGM and have been elected as Co-Chair of the KSENT Board. I am also taking on the role of Chair of the KSENT Governor Forum which will involve Governors from all the Kent Special Schools working together to share experience and best practice.

I hope you all enjoy a safe break.

Alison White ~ Chair of Governors
