NEWS FROM THE GOVERNING BODY- June 2019

News from the Governors - my word! Time just seems to disappear so quickly. No sooner have we finished our Easter Eggs we turn round and summer holidays will be soon upon us. Fingers crossed for good weather enabling lots of fun time to be spent outside in the fresh air.

Two very important events are just around the corner with the Summer Fair on 26th June and Sports Day on 4th July. The children love both of these events and I hope parents and carers can attend where possible. Our very active PFTA I’m sure will be looking for contributions towards their current project of providing the school with a Therapy Dog by September 2019. The presence of a Therapy Dog can decrease anxiety and help children work through issues such as anger management and other social problems. I’m sure you would agree this will be a very worthwhile addition to Bower Grove.

Please spend 5 minutes a week visiting the school website and Facebook page you never know what additional snippets of information may be there.

Mr H Law – Vice Chair of Governors

NEWS FROM THE GOVERNING BODY- July 2019

I can hardly believe that another academic year has come to a close but the lovely weather we had at the recent Sports Day tells me it must be summer. Like all of you; Governors have enjoyed following the pupils on their trips and residential outings via our Facebook page. I would just like to take this opportunity to congratulate the pupils on the exemplary behaviour they display when they are out representing our school and to acknowledge all of the hard work and commitment that our staff team put into making these trips possible. Governors enjoyed meeting so many people at the hugely successful Summer Fair and the Sports Day where we were happy to provide cool refreshments to you all on such a warm day. These fund raising efforts are bringing us so much closer to welcoming our Therapy Dog onto the team.

It has been business as usual for the Governors this term with a full round of meetings and visits to the school. We too are ready for a summer break and we would like to wish you all a safe and pleasant summer - we look forward to working with everyone again from September.

Good Luck to all our 2019 leavers - we are sure you will all shine in whatever you have chosen to do next.

Fingers crossed for Results Day!
